INVISIBLE SPACE – VALLECAS
Madrid | 2017

A photographic exploration how the memory of a place that no longer physically exists can be captured visually. Vallecas, the researched location, is an urban quarter in the south of Madrid where temporary housing barracks stood until the 1970s, which were later replaced by new social housing that is significant for the social identity of the neighborhood. Passers-by and current residents were interviewed and found archive material was collected in order to photographically capture the moments described in today's Vallecas.

This work was part of an exhibition with the collective for urban space exploration through photography “Urbiquity” at Matadero Madrid and the “Urban Photo Fest” 2017 in London
